Open Access – what is it?

Open Access (OA) is the immediate, free and unrestricted online availability of peer-reviewed scholarly research publications combined with the rights to use these articles in the digital environment.

Open Access is to accelerate research thanks to updated communication of research fully utilizing the Internet. OA research is paid for with public funds. The access to the results of the research should thus be made free of charge to avoid double taxation.
