Description

This is the histopathological image of HEART, MEDIASTINUM, AND PLEURA tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Result of the histopathological examination: In both papillary muscles of the left ventricle, markers of an early ischemic myocardial infarction. In the left ventricle samples, scattered areas of early ischemic changes in the form of striation loss, cardiomyocyte fragmentation and the presence of spasm nodes. In addition, muscle fiber hypertrophy and lipofuscinosis.
