Description

This is the histopathological image of COLON tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

The detailed information about the patient, sample, and diagnosis are as follows:

Age: 75

Clinical description: Since a few months weakness, dark stools, pressure fluctuations, anaemia. Macroscopically: ulcerated sigmoid tumour measuring 6.4x4.9x3.0cm. The tumour overlaps the serosal surface.

Diagnosis: Adenocarcinoma, NOS

Result of the histopathological examination: Tubular adenocarcinoma of the colon G2. The neoplasm infiltrates the entire thickness of the muscle wall.
