Description
This is the histopathological image of ADRENAL GLAND tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Result of the histopathological examination: Schwannian-stroma poor neuroblastoma with diffuse necrotic-hemorrhagic and apoptotic changes and numerous vascular emboli. The tumor occupies almost the whole kidney and the left adrenal gland, invades the abdominal aorta, the pancreas, the left part of diaphragm, the left iliopsoas muscle, and the perirenal fat tissue on the right side. Moreover, metastases to the lymph nodes in the abdominal cavity and mediastinum are present.
