Description
This is the histopathological image of BONES, JOINTS AND ARTICULAR CARTILAGE OF LIMBS tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Diagnosis: Aneurysmal bone cyst
Result of the histopathological examination: In the examined material, fragments of the structure of a spindle cell and rich cell lesion with the presence of focal low-grade atypia and individual figures of cell division. In addition, numerous osteoclast multinuclear cells, hemosiderin deposits, bone formation features and single osteoid foci are visible. The morphological picture may correspond to the solid form of an aneurysmal bone cyst. However, an intraosseous well differentiated osteosarcoma cannot be completely ruled out.
