Description

This is the histopathological image of BRONCHUS AND LUNG tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: A tumor of the inferior lobe of the right ung with central localization, invading lobar bronchus, 2,9 cm in diameter.

Gender: Male

Diagnosis:

Classification: ICD-O_3.2

Classification code: ADENOMAS AND ADENOCARCINOMAS

Diagnosis: Atypical carcinoid tumor

Result of the histopathological examination: Tumor with organoid pattern ( trabecular, rosette formation, papillary, pseudoglandular, follicular) Tumor cells are uniform with a polygonal shape, round to oval nuclei with salt and pepper chromatin and single nucleoli. No necrosis within the tumor. Mitotic count: 4 mitoses per 2 square mm
