Description
The data presents the results of work on the analysis of contemporary neighbourhoods. The aim of this part of the research was to create a digital model - a simplified digital twin - for selected parts of housing estates already realised in various cities in Europe. This group presents a model for a fragment of the King's Cross, London, UK. The students made digital models based on the analysis of web-based data. On this basis, they reconstructed the structure by analysing the layout and heights of the buildings and the shape of the roofs.
The dataset presents the design work of students at the Faculty of Architecture, Gdansk University of Technology, first semester of their master's studies. The research work was coordinated by Justyna Martyniuk-Pęczek, PhD., D.Sc., Architect and was realised within the framework of a research grant entitled "Study of the potential of residential district structures in the context of the search for initiatives for sustainable development" as part of the implementation of the TECHNETIUM TALENT MANAGEMENT GRANTS programme - Programme type: Mentoring Grants Programme: Technetium Talent Management Grants, Application Number: 23/1/2022/IDUB/III.4c/Tc at the EcoTech Centre.
The results in the dataset provide a basis for further research and development of the topic of shaping residential neighbourhoods.
