Description
This is the histopathological image of HEART, MEDIASTINUM, AND PLEURA tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Result of the histopathological examination: Early ischemic changes are visible in the papillary and left ventricular muscle samples - small diffuse foci of cardiomyocyte necrosis, fragmentation and the presence of spasm nodes. In addition, there are areas of granulation, diffuse interstitial and perivascular fibrosis, muscle cell hyperplasia, and scanty focal lymphocytic infiltrates in the epicardium.
