Description
This is the histopathological image of TONSIL tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: Enlarged palatine tonsil on the left side. History of lymphoma and chemotherapy. Suspicion of lymphoma recurrence.

Result of the histopathological examination: Chronic tonsilitis. Reactive follicular hyperplasia: enlarged follicles, varying in size and shape, prominent germinal centers, polarization of follicles, frequent mitoses. CD20+ in B cells zones, CD3+ in T cells zones, BCL2 negative in reactive germinal centers, Ki-67 high mitotic activity in germinal centers. BCL6 and CD10 in reactive germinal centres.
