Description

This is the histopathological image of COLON tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Result of the histopathological examination: Invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma of the colon. Malignancy penetrates whole wall without unequivocal features of invasion of adjecent fat tissue or serosa. Foci of the carcinoma are cleary visible within the muscularis propria of the wall. Several neoplasmatic emboli were found in the lymphatic vessels.
