Description

This is the histopathological image of BRAIN tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Result of the histopathological examination: Demyelination and diffuse macrophagocytic infiltrates, areas of fiber depletion and hypertrophied astroglial cells are present in the optic chiasm sample. The picture may correspond to chronic post-infection lesions, less likely to atypical PML. Spielman staining.
