Description

This is the histopathological image of CONNECTIVE, SUBCUTANEOUS AND OTHER SOFT TISSUES tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: 10 cm mobile soft tumor of scapular area. Core needle biopsy: elastofibroma.

Gender: Female

Classification: ICD-O_3.2

Classification code: FIBROMATOUS NEOPLASMS

Diagnosis: Elastofibroma

Result of the histopathological examination: Elastofibroma: poorly circumscribed tumor composed of collagen bundles, elastic fibres, adipose tissue, blood vessels, bland spindled cells. Elastic fibres are thick, eosinophilic, fragmented and irregular.
