Description

This is the histopathological image of CONNECTIVE, SUBCUTANEOUS AND OTHER SOFT TISSUES tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: Suspicion of lipoma. Soft well-circumscribed tumor deep in soft tissue of scapular region.

Gender: Male

Diagnosis:

Classification: ICD-O_3.2

Classification code: FIBROMATOUS NEOPLASMS

Diagnosis: Elastofibroma

Result of the histopathological examination: Elastofibroma. Tumor composed of bands of fibrous tissue intermixed with mature adipose tissue. Abnormal elastic fibres are present (thick, eosinophilic, fragmented).
