Description

This is the histopathological image of EYE AND ADNEXA tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: Tumor of right orbit. Rapid growth: two times bigger in ten days. No reaction to steroids.

Result of the histopathological examination: Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma: primitive mesenchymal cells (spindled ond oval). Scant cytoplasm. Hyperchromatic nuclei. Areas of necrosis. High mitotic activity. MyoD1+, Myogenina+, DES+, CD56+, CD99+/-, LCA-, S100-, CKAE1/AE3-, EMA-, SYN-.
