Description

This is the histopathological image of LIVER AND INTRAHEPATIC BILE DUCTS tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

The detailed information about the patient, sample, and diagnosis are as follows:

Patient:

Age: 0

Clinical description: Extreme prematurity (1080g). Lung atelectasis. Subpleural haemorrhages. The condition after the closure of the patent Botalla's duct (PDA). Condition after pneumothorax decompression. Patent interatrial foramen (PFO). Lived 15 days.

Gender: Male

Diagnosis: Extreme immaturity

Result of the histopathological examination: In liver specimens, features of massive hyperemia, focal necrosis up to 80% of hepatocytes. Preserved extramedullary hematopoiesis.
