Description

This is the histopathological image of SMALL INTESTINE tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: Abdominal pain. 57 x 45 x 55 mm oval hypoechoic tumor of intestinal mesentery on ultrasound.

Diagnosis: GIST

Result of the histopathological examination: GIST: Mitotix index: 15 mitoses per 50 HPF. Risk of Disease Progression- high (85% )(Category 6a). GIST cells: CD117+, DOG1+, CD34+, Ki-67 5%.
