Description

This is the histopathological image of STOMACH tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: CT: 30 x 22 mm intramural tumor of lesser curvature of stomach. EUS: 30 x 25 mm hypoechoic well-circumscribed tumor. Suspicion of GIST.

Classification code: COMPLEX MIXED AND STROMAL NEOPLASMS

Diagnosis: GIST

Result of the histopathological examination: GIST: tumor composed of spindled cells. Mitotix index: 4 mitoses per 50 HPF. Risk of Disease Progression- low (1,9 % )(Category 2). CD117+, DOG1+, Ki-67 5%. DOG1: positive cytoplasmic and membranous reaction.
