Description

This is the histopathological image of BRAIN tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: A tumor of the left cerebral hemisphere. Glioma? Fragmented material of total size 1.5x1x0.5 cm.

Result of the histopathological examination: Glioblastoma, NOS; WHO G-IV. IHC: GFAP (+), vimentin (+), Olig2 (+), synaptophysin (-), NSE (-), IDH1/R132H (-), p53 expression high (about 20% of cells), Ki67 50%. IDH1/2 mutation testing is indicated.
