Description

This is the histopathological image of OVARY tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: The patient was admitted due to the suspicion of right ovarian cancer. In the ultrasound of the right ovary, a multiloculated-cystic tumor with solid areas, 8 cm in diameter.

Classification code: CYSTIC, MUCINOUS AND SEROUS NEOPLASMS

Diagnosis: High grade serous carcinoma

Result of the histopathological examination: High grade serous carcinoma P53; nuclear positive staining; p53 expression correlates with TP53 mutation (missense mutations if nuclear staining in > 80% of cells )
