Description

This is the histopathological image of BRAIN tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Result of the histopathological examination: Early subarachnoid haemorrhage, diffuse hemorrhagic foci and generalized edema. Micro-abscesses in several samples. Moreover, focal neuronal atrophy and arterio- and arteriolosclerosis. IHC staining for beta-amyloid revealed numerous senile plaques and amyloid deposits in some of the blood vessels in the brain. Masson trichrom staining.
