Description

This is the histopathological image of BREAST tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: 4 years history of palpable tumor of right breast. Core needle biopsy: fibroadenoma. 26 x 15 mm solid tumor with lobulated contours on ultrasound.

Diagnosis: Lipofibroadenoma

Result of the histopathological examination: Fibroadenoma. Tumor composed of proliferation of both glandular epithelial and stromal components. Intracanalicular (predominantly) and pericanalicular pattern.
