Description
This is the histopathological image of OTHER AND ILL-DEFINED SITES IN LIP, ORAL CAVITY AND PHARYNX tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: Neck tumor of the left side, observed for 2 months. In FNA: Undifferentiated malignant tumor cells, IHC: p63 (-), TTF1 (-), synaptophysin (-).

Diagnosis: Malignant neoplasm of other and ill-defined sites in the lip, oral cavity and pharynx
Result of the histopathological examination: Secondary focus of poorly differentiated non-keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma. The tumor infiltrates the nerve branches and penetrates the skeletal muscles and extensively reaches the surgical margin, also of the the blood vessel margin.
