Description

This is the histopathological image of THYROID GLAND tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: Multinodular goiter. Family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma. Calcitonin- 3087. Enlarged cervical lymph node on ultrasound. FNAC of thyroid: medullary thyroid carcinoma cells (Bethesda VI).

Result of the histopathological examination: Medullary thyroid carcinoma. Metastasis to lymph node (1/4 lymph nodes). Carcinoma cells: Calcitonin+, CEA+, TTF1+ focally, Thytoglobulin-.
