Description

This is the histopathological image of HEMATOPOIETIC AND RETICULOENDOTHELIAL SYSTEMS tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: Suspicion of plasmocytoma

Gender: Female

Diagnosis: Multiple myeloma and malignant plasma cell neoplasms

Result of the histopathological examination: Trepanobiopsy with limited representativeness, fragmented, total length approximately 5 mm. The surviving marrow is dominated by the population of CD138 (+), Lamb> Kappa plasmocytes, which constitute about 70% of its composition. Cells of all hematopoiesis series without maturation disorders have also been identified within the bone marrow. There are no CD34 + or CD117 + blasts. The histological picture confirms the changes in the course of clinically diagnosed multiple myeloma.
