Myelofibrosis as a result of myeloproliferative disease - Male, 71 - Tissue image [1129063001729621]

Description

This is the histopathological image of HEMATOPOIETIC AND RETICULOENDOTHELIAL SYSTEMS tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

The detailed information about the patient, sample, and diagnosis are as follows:

Patient:

Age: 71

Clinical description: A patient diagnosed five years earlier with essential thrombocythemia (JAK2 positive in molecular tests). Currently in a physical examination splenomegaly. In additional tests, anemia with leukoerythroblastosis, LDH - 600 U / L.

Gender: Male

Diagnosis:

Classification: ICD-O_3.2

Classification code: CHRONIC MYELOPROLIFERATIVE DISORDERS

Diagnosis: Myelofibrosis as a result of myeloproliferative disease

Result of the histopathological examination: Post essential trombocythaemia myelofibrosis (postET-MF) Marrow with increased cellularity about 99%. The topography of the main lines of hemopoiesis is disturbed, the M: E ratio is 10: 1. Megakaryocytes more numerous in relation to the marrow cellularity, dysmorphic, irregularly arranged with the formation of severalcell clusters, some of the clusters are located peritrabecularly. The large forms with hypersegmentation of the nuclei dominate, some with a complete division of the nuclei, with the preserved N / C ratio. Significantly increased reticulin fibrosis (MF = 3) – Gomori Trichrome Masson - collagen fibrosis increased (G1)
