Description
This is the histopathological image of HEART, MEDIASTINUM, AND PLEURA tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: Hospital death, a 55-year-old patient with a diagnosed tumor within the skull and respiratory failure. Suspicion of tuberculosis.

Diagnosis: Myocardial degeneration
Result of the histopathological examination: Cardiomyocyte hypertrophy, focal fragmentation and diffuse minor foci of interstitial and perivascular fibrosis are present in the samples from the heart muscle. Maasive aera of fibrosis (scar after myocardial infarction ?).
