Description
This is the histopathological image of HEART, MEDIASTINUM, AND PLEURA tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: Transposition of great arterial trunks (TGA), ventricular sept defect (VSD). Cyanosis. Heart failure. Condition after anatomical correction of a heart defect - modo Jatene. Lived 10 days.

Result of the histopathological examination: In the anterior wall of the heart (both ventricles) fibrin deposits (thicker in the sections above the right ventricle), also signs of hyperemia in the subepicardial zone and small areas of haemorrhage.
