Description
This is the histopathological image of HEMATOPOIETIC AND RETICULOENDOTHELIAL SYSTEMS tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Age: 73
Clinical description: A patient with normocytic anemia (Hgb - 9.0 g / dl), complaining of bone pain. In additional tests: hypercalcemia (4 mmol / l) and numerous osteolytic bone lesions in X-ray; IgM Kappa 5000 mg/l, IgM Lambda 150 mg/l.

Result of the histopathological examination: The biopsy shows myeloma infiltrates (plasma cell myeloma) Marrow with increased cellularity in relation to age - about 60%. An average of 20% of the marrow cells consists of CD138 (+) / CD56 (+) / Kappa (+) / Lambda (-) plasmocytes. Topography of major lines of hemopoiesis slightly disturbed by plasmocytic infiltrates, M: E ratio of 4: 1 Bone trabeculae without significant pathological changes
