Description

This is the histopathological image of OTHER AND ILL-DEFINED SITES tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: 22 x 15 mm well-circumscribed tumor of neck on ultrasound.

Gender: Male

Diagnosis: Schwannoma, NOS

Result of the histopathological examination: Schwannoma- well-circumscribed biphasic tumor: hypercellular Antoni A areas and hypocellular Antoni B areas. Verocay bodies are present. Cells of tumor- narrow, elongated and wavy. S100+, CD56+, SMA-, CD34-, CKAE1/AE3-, SYN-, Ki-67 5%.
