Description
This is the histopathological image of BRONCHUS AND LUNG tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: A tumor of the superior lobe of left lung localized peripherally, 5,3 cm in greatest dimension, not invading the visceral pleura. Necrosis accounts or 30% of the tumor.

Diagnosis: Small cell carcinoma, NOS
Result of the histopathological examination: Tumor composed of small/medium sized round/oval cells (3x larger than lymphocyte/erythrocyte) with minimal cytoplam, Tumor with organoid patterns. Nuclei with dispersed chromatin with nuclear molding.
