Description
This is the histopathological image of EYE AND ADNEXA tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: Right orbital tumor biopsy. Fragmented material of total size 1x1x0.6 cm.

Diagnosis:Classification: ICD-O_3.2
Classification code: SOFT TISSUE TUMORS AND SARCOMAS, NOS
Diagnosis: Spindle cell sarcoma, undifferentiated
Result of the histopathological examination: Spindle cell tumor with high-grade nuclear atypia and prominent mitotic activity (up to 6/10HPF). No foci of necrosis are found. Dense lymphocytic and plasma cell infiltrate is present at the periphery of the tumor. IHC: SMA(+) - focally, desmin(-), CD34(-), ALK1(-), S100(-), GFAP(-), B-catenin - weak membrane reaction, Ki67 40%.The morphological picture and IHC suggest a diagnosis of high-grade sarcoma, probably undifferentiated spindle cell sarcoma.
