Description

The data present research results being part of the OPUS-22 project entitled “In search of new markers of male fertility in cattle. Aquaporins expression in the reproductive organs and sperm of the bulls (Bos taurus)” obtained from the National Science Center in Poland (grant no. 2021/43/B/NZ9/00204). The aim of this part of the project was (i) to determine the location of aquaglyceroporins (AQP3, AQP7 and AQP9) in the male reproductive system - from the testis to the vas deferens in cattle and (ii) to analyze changes in the expression of these proteins during animal growth and development, (iii) to assess the morphology of bovine male reproductive tract, (iv) to identify the Sertoli and Leydig cells using GATA-4 antibodies.

This dataset contains:

  • raw data from the measurement of body weight, right testis and epididymis weights;
  • raw data from morphometric studies;
  • microphotographs of immunohistochemical staining of GATA-4, AQP3, AQP7 and AQP9;
  • raw data from the analyses of AQPs expression, Western blot images and blots measured in Image Lab software.

All necessary information regarding the above data and a kind of instruction for viewing them are included in the file READ ME.docx.
