Description

This is the histopathological image of THYMUS tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

The detailed information about the patient, sample, and diagnosis are as follows:

Age: 48

Clinical description: In chest CT scans , a tumor with, in the anterior mediastinum with left lateralization, 8cm in greatest dimension. The change was accidentally detected in control tests after pulmonary embolism. No symptoms of myasthenia gravis.

Result of the histopathological examination: Thymoma, AB type Tumor composed of two components: oval or spindeled epithelioid cells and numerous thymocytes (immature lymphocytes T)
