Transmission electron microscope (TEM) and optical microscope images of pristine and silica-coated bismuth oxide and gadolinium oxide particles
Description
Collection of raw transmission electron microscope (TEM) micrographs and optical microscope images used in the associated manuscript. All data in accessible *.tif format. Zip package contains:
Folder "TEM BG-A" - raw TEM micrographs of silica coated Bi2O3+Gd2O3 particles using synthesis method A (refer to associated manuscript)
Folder "TEM BG-B" - raw TEM micrographs of silica coated Bi2O3+Gd2O3 particles using synthesis method B (refer to associated manuscript)
Folder "TEM Silica particles type A and type B" - raw TEM micrographs of silica spheres synthesized using methods A and B (refer to associated manuscript)
Folder "Pristine structures" - raw TEM micrographs of pristine Bi2O3 and Gd2O3 structures using for further synthesis process
Folder "Optical microscope" - Optical microscopic images of the silica synthesized via method A and method B.
To assess the morphological properties and composition of pristine and synthesized structures, transmission electron microscopy (TEM, Tecnai F30 with a field emission gun operating at 200 kV, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Waltham, MA, USA) with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy—EDS (EDX, FEI Corporation, Hillsboro, OR, USA) was used.
The images of silica coatings were taken using a Delta Optical microscope (Delta Optical, SZ-430B, Mississauga, ON, Canada) equipped with a 20 MP camera (DLT-Cam PRO).
