Description

This is the histopathological image of SMALL INTESTINE tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Diagnosis: Tubular adenocarcinoma

Result of the histopathological examination: In the specimens of the macroscopically described tumor in the Bauhin's valve area, weaving of a poorly differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma was found. The infiltration covers the distal wall of the ileum and the wall of the cecum along its entire thickness, penetrates the surrounding fatty tissue and focally crosses the visceral peritoneum covering the organ.
