Tubular adenocarcinoma - Female, 80 - Tissue image [611073002144151]

Description

This is the histopathological image of COLON tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

The detailed information about the patient, sample, and diagnosis are as follows:

Patient:

Age: 80

Clinical description: Cecum tumor with obstruction. The tumor is located just behind the Bauhin valve, macroscopically infiltrates the intestinal wall to adjacent adipose tissue.

Gender: Female

Diagnosis:

Classification: ICD-O_3.2

Classification code: ADENOMAS AND ADENOCARCINOMAS

Diagnosis: Tubular adenocarcinoma

Result of the histopathological examination: Bauhin's valve tumor with moderately differentiated mucinous tubular adenocarcinoma (adenocarcinoma tubulare partim mucinosum G2 infiltrativum). The invasive neoplasm crosses the muscular layer of the intestinal wall and penetrates deep into the surrounding fat tissue, as well as locally crosses the serosa and reaches the radial surgical margin of the mesentery. The tumor presents features of perineural invasion (PNI-1). It is accompanied by the presence of vascular emboli, including those located outside the intestinal wall (LVI-1). The presence of numerous micro-groups and isolated cells (high-grade budding) was noted on the periphery of the cancer infiltrate.
