Synthesis optimization of new organophosphorus polymers able of CO2 assimilation

The aim of the project is to synthesize new organophosphorus (P-P bond-containing) polymers capable of assimilating CO2. Using the experience gained from working with phosphorus compounds at low oxidation levels, the first part of the project will produce new phosphanylphosphaalkenes with amine substituents on the phosphanyl phosphorus atom. These compounds will be a complete novelty, but the introduction of amino groups is intended to increase the polarity of the P-P bond and thus the reactivity of these compounds. In the next stage, they will be used to synthesize polymers in reactions with selected dithiols. The resulting polymers will be pre-reacted with CO2 to test their ability to incorporate such molecules into the P-P bond. The planned research and the obtained results will contribute to the intensification of activities aimed at the development of the Applicant's scientific career, including the initiation of habilitation proceedings. The results of the conducted research and development works will be published in the form of at least 1 article in the journal of "Philadelphia List".
