EcoTLab Environmental Transport Research Laboratory
The EcoTLab Environmental Transport Research Laboratory was established within the Department of Transport Engineering at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Gdańsk University of Technology.
Main Objectives of EcoTLab
The laboratory focuses on environmental research within the scope of the Department's research activities and aims to collaborate with the industrial sector by providing vibroacoustic research services. EcoTLab also conducts educational activities, training, industry seminars, and experimental research as part of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral theses.
EcoTLab offers the following services:
• Research and development studies under national and international grants,
• Contracted work for the industry.
Measurement services provided by EcoTLab include:
• Environmental noise measurement: railway, tram, road, and aircraft noise,
• Noise measurement in transport vehicles: railway, tram, road, and aircraft,
• Infrasound noise measurement using low-frequency microphones (from 0.1 Hz),
• Vibration measurement.
EcoTLab conducts research in compliance with national legal regulations and European norms and standards. Considering the individual needs of clients as well as the specificity and complexity of the research problem, the Laboratory Team offers the development/adaptation of proprietary methodologies.
Currently, the EcoTLab Research Team is actively involved in the following projects:
• Acoustic Emission Studies in Rail Transport, project: Plutonium Supporting Student Research Teams, project manager: Dr. Eng. Roksana Licow,
• MODERN - Accelerometric Measurements in Passenger Rail Transport Vehicles, project: Miniatura 7, project manager: Dr. Eng. Michał Urbaniak,
• Identification of Rolling Surface Defects of Railway Tracks Using Vibration Signals, project: Argentum Triggering Research Grants, project manager: Dr. Eng. Roksana Licow,
• InfraNoise - Precise Monitoring System for the Impact of Railway Traffic on the Environment, Considering Traffic, Technical, and Environmental Data, project: BRIK2, project manager: Dr. Hab. Eng. Piotr Chrostowski, Prof. GUT,
• VibroScience - Research and Applications, project: Educational Innovations, project manager: Dr. Eng. Roksana Licow.
Funding for the activities of the EcoTLab Environmental Transport Research Laboratory has been provided by:
Argentum Triggering Research Grants,
Plutonium Supporting Student Research Teams.
