The proposed solution of bio-eco-innovative thermal storage for electro-mobile applications is an innovative solution without its counterpart on the domestic market. This concept will involve the use of a two-phase thermosyphon technology that transports heat/cold to a thermal store located in the interior of an electric vehicle. The filling of the storage will be selected in a way that allows reaching the highest density of the stored heat flux in a volume unit, with as little weight of the filling as possible. The storing system will cooperate with the HVAC installation located in the vehicle. Currently, such systems mostly use el. energy from the batteries to supply power to the electric motor system and other vehicle subassemblies. It is estimated that the HVAC system may be responsible for consumption of up
to 30% of electricity in the vehicle, which significantly reduces its reach and increases the frequency of charging the batteries. This, in turn, translates into shortening their service life. The proposed solution is intended to limit the amount of consumed electricity and/or increase the efficiency of energy storage in electric batteries. The intention is to use a biodegradable substance as a medium for storing thermal energy. In the applicant's opinion, this will allow reducing the negative impact of the installation on the natural environment. It should be emphasized that the majority of the operating factors currently used in HVAC systems have a significant impact, for example, on deepening climate change. Another innovation is the charging system itself. Thanks to the use of a two-phase thermosyphon, loading
the storage will be possible without loss of the intermediary medium. The "production" of heat/cold itself may take place in centralized units, located eg at the points of charging electr. and/or at service stations. It will also be possible to load the storage from the HVAC system itself by transforming the el. recovered from vehicle braking.

Heat transfer enhancement of modular thermal energy storage unit for reversible heat pump cooperation
PublicationThe following article presents experimental comparison research on a hexagonal shelland-tube latent thermal energy storage (TES). Such shape of a shell was deliberately chosen instead of a cylindrical one due to its high modularity and with intent for future applications in automobiles (EV and PHEV) air conditioning systems (HVAC). Two geometries of helical coils, acting as tubes, were studied in this article. One was a simple...
