Light-assisted gas sensor based on graphene and metallic nanostructures with plasmon resonance effect

The aim of the project is research on gas sensors based on low-dimensional structures exhibiting plasmon resonance effect to enhance their sensitivity and selectivity. Technological solution regarding fabrication of gas-sensitive layers proposed in the project is a relatively simple and low-cost method with preserved the precision and control of the deposited layers. Explanation on processes occuring during gas detection with the use of light-modulated nanostructures employing electrical and low-frequency noise measurements is an attractive subject among electronics and materials science field. The scientific topic has a high potential to be published in high-impact, prestigious scientific journals.
