Novel high frequency components with non-conventional shape employing smooth geometry deformation of 3D solid with FFD

The technical objective of this project is to develop new designs of passive microwave components commonly used in modern civil telecommunication systems and radar, using techniques applying free-form-deformation (FFD) of 3D solids, that allows us to overcome existing limitations in electromagnetic modeling. During this project, the Ph.D. student will investigate, develop, design, and then manufacture and evaluate novel structures of high-frequency passive components exhibiting non-conventional shape, which can be later formed via additive manufacturing (AM) technology.
