Abstract
This paper presents an active power electronic transformer (APET) based on modular structure. The proposed three phase APET consists of at least three base modules (BM). The input/output stage of the BM is based on half-bridge sub modules. The isolation stage includes a medium frequency transformer and is realized as a dual half-bridge. The paper describes construction process and explains the control strategy. The theoretical principles are verified by the experimental results.
