Abstract
Na terenie województwa pomorskiego znajdują się 42 miasta. Wśród nich 28 to miejscowości o liczbie do 20 000 mieszkańców. Stanowią one 66% wszystkich miast województwa. Według danych GUS na 2006 rok mieszka w nich 16% całkowitej liczby jego miejskiej ludności.W najbliższym sąsiedztwie Gdańska położone są trzy miasteczka o liczbie ludności w przedziale od 10 000 do 20 000. Są nimi: Puck, Kartuzy i Nowy Dwór Gdański. Choć są one podobne do siebie pod względem liczby mieszkańców, odległości i oddziaływania gdańskiej aglomeracji, to różnią się znacznie zachowanym zasobem kulturowym jak i możliwościami rozwoju gospodarczego.[In the area of the Pomerania Province are 42 towns and cities. Among them, twenty-eight have a population of less than 20.000. They constitute 66% of all the towns/cities of the province. According to the Central Statistical Office data for the year 2006, their inhabitants compose 16% of the urban population total.In the closest vicinity of Gdansk there lie three towns of a population within the range of 10.000 to 20.000. They are called Puck, Kartuzy and Nowy Dwór Gdański. Although they resemble each other in terms of population, distance and influence from the Gdańsk agglomeration, they are different as far as their development abilities and preserved cultural infrastructure/heritage are concerned.]
