Abstract
Shape errors of the tool exert a dominant influence on the shape accuracy of the workpiece. The correlation between flatness errors of the lap and flatness errors of the workpieces was checked experimentally and determined analytically. Computer model of the workpiece shaping by lapping was developed. Evaluation method of the workpiece orientation as well as some simulation results for a lap with shape errors of convexity and cincavity and for a circular workpiece of different diameters are presented in this paper.
