Biography

Jacek Poplatek – Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Gdańsk University of Technology.

In research work his interests focuses mainly on issues of programming and designing of healthcare architecture facilities, including general and specialist hospitals. The second field of research is 19th century historical architecture of Sopot city and protection of its architectural and cultural heritage. He is the author of numerous publications in peer reviewed international journals, as well as co-author and editor of books concerning health care architecture. He is a member of the International Scientific Advisory Committee of the “Studies, Repairs and Maintenance of Heritage Architecture” periodical conference.

His research and education activities are combined with design practice. He is the author and co-author of many architectural projects in the field of residential architecture (multi-family housing complexes), public utility architecture (e.g. hotels), interior architecture, as well as health care architecture (e.g. health clinics, hospitals).
