My academic and research activity has been concentrated around one specialty — urban planning, however it involves an interdisciplinary reference to other fields, such as lighting and the science of management. In terms of quantity, my academic work comprises 156 publications and studies of various nature in total. They include 40 published original and creative academic works, which mainly are the result of my work on research projects. Design studies, both conceptual and execution design, constitute an important part of my academic achievements and they include 72 items in total. I have presented the results of academic and research works in the form of publications and by giving speeches at national and international conferences, including specialist conferences organized by commercial companies for professionals. I have been using the knowledge I gained for teaching. 
The primary area of my interest is urban planning and I focus on three aspects of that field, namely:

1. the issues connected with shaping contemporary public space, with a particular emphasis on lighting;
2. revitalization of degraded urban structures, with a particular emphasis on shaping public space and new residential structures; 
3. development of contemporary cities and metropolises.
