Biography

Krzysztof Nyka, received MSc (1986)  PhD (2002) and DSc (2020)  degrees in telecommunication and electrical engineering from the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics (ETI) of Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT), Poland. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Microwaves and Antenna Engineering, Faculty of ETI, GUT. Before his academic career, he worked for the electronic industry (1984-1986).

Research interests. Microwave and antenna engineering (microwave active circuits, switched beam antennas, CubeSat antennas), computational electrodynamics (finite element method for simulation of microwave structures, model order reduction), wireless technologies (radars, RFID, indoor localization, wireless power transmission), wireless communication systems (wireless sensor networks, M2M and IoT).

Publications and patents (as for 15.01.2020, Scopus). 67 scientific papers (39 in Web of Science Core Collection, 8 in JCR journals), cited 192 times, h=8 (87 times in WoS CC, h=5). 2 patents (1 granted).

Grants. Participant/investigator or principal investigator in 21 projects: 3 Polish research and R&D grants, 8 international R&D grants (EU and Polish co-financing), 4 Polish grants co-financed by industry partners, 6 grants for organizing cooperation with industry

International cooperation. EU COST networks (RFCSET, WIPE), international consortia in 5 EU project (H2020/Artemis and H2020/ECSEL initiatives)

Other achievements and activities.

  • Co-founder of Pomeranian ICT cluster INTERIZON (2009), awarded the status of Pomeranian Key Cluster (2009) and National Key Cluster (2015), member of the cluster board (elected 5 times)
