Comparison of absorption spectroscopy results with a theoretical model of 16-65-nm CTAB-stabilized gold nanorods
Description
Figure and data present theoretical and experimental spectroscopy results of 16-65-nm CTAB-stabilized gold nanorods measured in a water solution. The theoretical curve characteristic corresponds with experimental data obtained from a spectrophotometer Thermo Fisher Scientific Evolution 220 calibrated to a water-filled cuvette. The visible discrepancies are supposed to be explained by the Rayleigh criterion that states the results validity if (𝜆/2𝜋)>d_NPeff is reached, where 𝜆 - wavelength; d_NPeff - effective size of a particle. Applying the 16-65-nm laser-illuminated gold nanorods as a non-standard heat source is envisioned to be used for germs inactivation processes in a considered system [10.52202/077185-0150].
