Determination of flow properties of a pneumatic hose from changes in air pressure in a tank being emptied or filled by a differently configured pneumatic line
Description
The aim of the study was to determine the flow properties of various pneumatic hoses. The experiments were to measure the pressure changes in a being filled or emptied tank for a differently configured pneumatic line, including pneumatic hoses of different length and diameter. Three test configurations were used: (1) pressure source -> pneumatic line -> being filled tank, (2) being emptied tank -> pneumatic line -> ambient atmosphere, (3) being emptied tank -> pneumatic line -> being filled tank. The knowledge of pressure changes in the being filled (1), emptied (2) or in both (3) for known tank and hose sizes gives the opportunity to determine the flow properties of pneumatic hoses and their connections. Flow properties are understood as the values of coefficients of mass flow rate or volumetric flow rate models (C and b, Kv, Cv or others).
