Government spending on education as a share of GDP, 1870–2020 (selected countries)

Description

The dataset contains a summary of government spending on education, presented as a share of a given country's GDP in selected years. Data is presented for the years 1870–2020, if possible in 10-year intervals. The aim of the summary was to show the change in the approach of governments of selected countries in Europe (including Poland), the USA, China and India over the 150 years studied.

The table presents total government spending on education (all levels of government and all levels of education), given as a share of GDP.
